El Quinteto de Vientos de la UNLP, dependiente de la Prosecretaría de Cultura, Secretaría de Arte y Cultura de la UNLP fue creado en 1979 como Quinteto de Vientos de LR 11 Radio Universidad y en 1982 fue designado como conjunto oficial de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata. En el 2019 cumple sus primeros 40 años de historia con más de 4.000 actuaciones en el ámbito local, nacional e internacional.
